Walhalla Historic Township is a town that holds a special place in the hearts of Australians. Hidden in a deep valley of the Victorian Alps, Walhalla was one of Victoria’s great gold mining towns in the 19th century. Walhalla's Star Hotel was rebuilt in 1999. It is a replica facade of the original gold-era Star Hotel, however the interior has been design to suit modern requirements with 12 large bedrooms all with ensuite facilities. Winner of the Latrobe City Business & Tourism Award for Excellence in Customer Service 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. IMPORTANT: No evening meals available 20 November through to 19 December 2016 due to kitchen renovation.
A valid credit card number (VISA or Mastercard) is required to hold a reservation. We do not hold tentative bookings. On reservations of 4 rooms or more that are booked via one person a deposit of $50 per room per night will be charged to your credit card when the reservation is made. This deposit is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled (regardless of notice given).
On check-out, payment can be made by VISA, Mastercard, cash or EFTPOS. IMPORTANT: Payments made by VISA or Mastercard will be subject to a 1.5% surcharge.

Walhalla's Star Hotel is a small retreat and late cancellations have a significant impact. If a reservation is cancelled and you do not rebook for another date at the time of cancellation, the following applies;
> Cancellations between 7 days & 72 hours = $100 [+ 1.5% credit card surcharge] cancellation fee (per room/per night)
> Cancellations within 72 hours = 100% fee of first night's accommodation [+ 1.5% credit card surcharge]
> Cancellations within 24 hours = 100% fee of the total stay [+ 1.5% credit card surcharge]. A $50 per room [+ 1.5% credit card surcharge] administration fee will be charged for re-booked rooms that occur within 7 days & 72 hours of intended arrival. A $80 per room [+ 1.5% credit card surcharge] administration fee will be charged for re-booked rooms that occur within 72 hours of intended arrival.
On Long Weekends (inc Easter) a $100 per room/per night cancellation fee will be charged regardless of the notice given, within 72 hours of arrival, the above policy applies.

Reservation made via 3rd party websites like qantas.com or wotif.com are subject to the cancellation conditions outlined on those websites. We recommend that you have travel insurance to cover cancellations in unfortunate circumstances.
Walhalla's Star Hotel is NOT a BYO premises. Beverages not purchased from Walhalla's Star Hotel cannot be consumed on the premises (this includes the bedrooms). We have a 24 hour guest bar available should you feel the need for a beer at 4am.
Walhalla and Walhalla's Star Hotel is a quiet place. This is why people come to the hotel...to get away, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. For this reason we have a rule that there be no noise after 11pm and this includes the bedrooms. If you are intending to come to the Star Hotel with a group of friends with the plan to "party-on", may we suggest that you select another hotel.
Walhalla's Star Hotel is place of relaxation where people come to unwind and get away from their every day routine. The hotel was not designed with children in mind. We have readily accessible alcohol in guest bars, no children play areas, steep stair wells, we are not able not cook children's meals and in winter we have unattended and non protected open fires. There's also no television. We therefore recommend that the hotel is not suitable for any child under 12yo.
ROOM ALLOCATIONS & REQUESTS
We are happy to take requests for particular rooms within the hotel. However, while we will try to ensure that you are given your room of choice, we can offer no guarantees due to operational reasons. The exception to this rule is "Black Diamond" which is our suite for guest who have impaired mobility. If you require "Black Diamond" please advise us when you make your reservation and this room WILL be held for you. You will be advised if it is NOT available when you make your reservation. Please note that we have 4 ground floor rooms, if you require a ground floor room, please advise us when you make your booking. People who request ground floor rooms get priority over those who don't. If you are not able to use stairs, please request a ground floor room.
