Originally constructed in 1940 to pump water for hydro electricity, this iconic industrial site has been refurbished to offer boutique accommodation inside Tasmania’s Wilderness World Heritage Area amongst some of the most dramatic natural landscape on the planet.

The setting, however, is really only the very beginning. The opportunity to explore, rejuvenate and interact is what makes the Pumphouse experience special. Guests can explore the national park by foot, bike and boat, fish for trout in the shallows then return to Pumphouse at day’s end to relax by the log fire.

This intimate property offers just 19 rooms; located in the Pumphouse building out on the lake, in the Shorehouse building on the water’s edge and our most exclusive space, The Retreat.

Join us in the Shorehouse each night for our Shared Table Dining Experience: a hearty feed of Tassie’s famous flavours, sharing tables and tales with fellow guests.
